Supporting communities: Devon
We are proud to support a wide range of projects and events throughout the region, as well as helping residents to thrive. Bringing communities together is important to us.
If you have an idea for a community event or project, or would like to find out more about what is going on in your area, our community connectors can help.
You can also stay up to date on our Connecting Communities Facebook group.
Foxfield community day
In July a community day was held with around 80 people coming along. There were pasties, music and games on offer, as well as ten agencies offering advice and activities. The event gave residents the opportunity to come together as a community, try new things and speak to local advice services.
Furse Park community house redecoration
We were delighted to work with Ellie Cliff from Bell Construction who very kindly provided labour and materials as part of their social value commitment to spruce up LiveWest’s community house. It is now a clean, well-organised, versatile, welcoming community and lunch space for staff.
This room is used by lots of different people so we asked customers and colleagues to vote on what colour they wanted. Bell construction painted the main room, installed a noticeboard, cleaned the outside of the house and donated 44 packets of cereal to Furse Park Community Larder that runs from the community house.
The Tors, Tavistock Community Event
We recently ran a pop up community event in Tavistock for local residents, with postcard making and ice cream sundaes on offer. We used the event to update residents about improvements to the estate and to promote our Tenancy Sustainment service, which can support customers.
Energy advice door knocks
Our Tenancy Sustainment and Community Investment teams visited homes at Arena park Exeter (102 homes) and Northbrook Close recently. We had a representative from ECOE Energy Advice in Exeter with us to provide help and advice on benefits or energy advice.
