Helping you read our communications

Our ReachDeck toolbar offers several tools to help you read our website, and can also be used to listen to and translate our website. To open the ReachDeck toolbar, click on the Accessibility menu in the top right of any page on our website and select 'Speak and translate'. The toolbar will appear along the top of the page.

To make the size of text on our website bigger, open the toolbar and then select ‘Enlarge text as it is read out loud’.

We also offer screen mask and simplify features, through our ReachDeck toolbar, to help you focus when reading our website.

If you are a LiveWest customer and would like to receive letters from us in large print, please contact us and let us know. We will be happy to help you. 

Listen to our website read aloud

You can use our ReachDeck toolbar to listen to our website read out loud in a natural sounding voice, and accent of your choice.

To try it out, open the toolbar and then select 'Speak and translate'. To hear text read out loud, simply click on the first icon in the toolbar that appears along the top of the page and hover your mouse over any text. From a touchscreen device you will need to click on the text to hear it. 

Translation services

You can use our ReachDeck toolbar to translate our web pages into over 100 languages and read the content aloud in over 38 of the most commonly spoken languages in the world.

To try it out, click on the Accessibility menu in the top right of any page on our website and then select 'Speak and translate'. To hear text read out loud, simply click on the first icon and hover your mouse over any text. From a touchscreen device you will have to click on the text to hear it.

We are able to translate letters or leaflets in over 170 different languages. You can also request our translation service when you call through to our customer service department, or by speaking to your Income Officer or Housing Officer.

Video Relay Service

For our customers who use sign language, we offer a Video Relay Service. If you wish to use this service, please click on the Accessibility menu in the top right of the website, select 'SignVideo Call', enter your postcode and then you will be connected.
