New defibrillator installed at Sainsbury Hall to support the Minehead community
A new community defibrillator has been installed at Sainsbury Hall in Minehead (TA24 8JZ).
This is vital lifesaving equipment that everyone in the community can access in an emergency by contacting the emergency services to obtain the access code.
To help make this possible, we were approached by Minehead Defibrillator Group, who are working to ensure that no matter where someone is in Minehead, a defibrillator is always close at hand in an emergency.
The community group approached LiveWest to request use of the Sainsbury Hall building, recognising its central location within a large residential area – including many LiveWest homes.
The defibrillator will provide reassurance and potentially life saving equipment for residents in this west side of Minehead - all delivered at minimal cost but with maximum community benefit.
LiveWest is pleased to support the project, granting permission for the equipment to be installed on the hall and helping make emergency support more accessible for local people.
Shona Stone, our Community Connector for the area, said: “We’re really proud to see the new defibrillator installed at Sainsbury Hall, and we’d like to thank the Minehead Defibrillator Group for approaching us and making this possible.
“By working together, we’ve enhanced safety for local residents and provided real reassurance, knowing this life saving equipment is there should anyone ever need it.”
The Minehead Defibrillator Group supplied the defibrillator unit and continue to take full responsibility for its maintenance and servicing, ensuring it remains ready for use at all times. Meanwhile LiveWest will supply the emergency power and undertook the installation on the building to ensure the equipment is safely housed and operational should it ever be needed.
LiveWest is proud to support community led initiatives like this one, helping local organisations make a real difference in the places our customers call home.
