Retrofit project in Devon delivers greener and warmer homes
Upgrades through a retrofit project in Totnes improves the homes of our resident with solar panels and loft insultation bringing reduced energy bills and a warmer home.
Our resident Robert Osborne and his parents have seen a huge difference in their home.
We are investing in our homes with our Cby28 programme, aimed at bringing all our homes to an EPC C minimum or above to make homes fit for the future.
With 105 homes completed in this programme in Totnes through the Government’s Wave 2 funding of the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund.
The work contracted with Low Carbon Exchange includes PV Photo Voltaic solar panels, high heat retention storage heaters, loft and cavity wall insulation, ventilation works including new extractor fans to kitchens and bathrooms and door under cuts.
Robert said: “We are really pleased with the work. The tradespeople were constantly coming around making sure everything was all right and keeping us updated and letting us know when they will be here.
“We have noticed that our home it's got especially in the winter, it's a lot more warmer. We're not have to put in heating on.
“When we have the hot weather, we were loving it because we were doing the ironing through the day and not finding out by the end of it that our bills have gone down for the electric.”
