Making our services fair for everyone
We’ve signed up to the HouseProud Pledge, which is all about making housing services fair and inclusive for everyone, including people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or who identify in another way (often shortened to LGBTQ+).
As part of this pledge, we’ll soon start asking customers about their sexual orientation and gender identity. This is similar to when we ask questions about age or ethnicity. It helps us understand our customers better and check that no one is treated unfairly.
If we ask you these questions, you don’t have to answer, there will always be an option to choose “prefer not to say.” But if you do share this information, it really helps us make our services work for everyone.
We take great care with any personal information you provide and will only ask what we are legally allowed to know.
You may see these questions when:
- Letting a home.
- Completing a You and Your Home visit.
- Signing up a new customer after a Mutual Exchange.
