Resident Engagement Strategy
LiveWest has a resident engagement strategy for higher risk buildings so that residents are kept informed, listened to, and involved in keeping their homes safe.
Having a clear engagement strategy is a legal requirement under the Building Safety Act, which says residents must be given clear safety information and a say in building safety matters.
This approach helps LiveWest share information in ways that work for different people, listen to residents’ views, and work together to improve safety and confidence in their building.

Simultaneous 'Get Out' Evacuation Strategy
The building is designed with fire safety measures, including fire-resistant walls, floors, and doors. However, in this building, the safest action in the event of a fire is to leave the building as soon as possible.
If you discover a fire or hear the fire alarm, you should evacuate immediately.
You should leave your flat and the building straight away if:
- You see or smell smoke or fire.
- You hear the fire alarm.
- You are told to evacuate by staff or the Fire and Rescue Service.
- You feel unsafe at any time.
- Always use the stairs, not the lift.
Once outside, move to the assembly point on the corner of Bath Street. Stay a safe distance away from the building and do not return for personal belongings. Do not re-enter the building until the Fire and Rescue Service confirm it is safe to do so.
How to keep yourself safe
- Familiarise yourself with the layout of the building and where the staircases and emergency exits are located.
- Discuss the escape routes and what to do in an emergency with everyone in your home.
- Keep fire doors closed.
- Keep hallways, stairs and exits clear.
- Keep us updated regarding your ability to evacuate your building on your own.
If you think you might need extra help in the event of a fire, please let us know. We can carry out an assessment for vulnerable customers who may need extra help. This is known as a Person-Centred Fire Risk Assessment (PCFRA).

It also provides recommendations for LiveWest to follow if further safety measures are needed to prevent, control, or reduce the effects of a fire.
Because the full FRA is a detailed and technical document, we have summarised the key information for you in a simple, easy to read format. Click here to read more.
