St James Court, Taunton - Consultation

Residents can find the outcome and details of our application to shorten our Section 20 consultation.

Some of our customers pay service charges for the services they receive. These are often for communal services such as a passenger lift or cleaning.

If we carry out works which will be service charged and are over £250.00 including VAT per property, we have to consult all customers affected under Section 20 regulations.

Occasionally we may ask the court, known as a First Tier Tribunal, to dispense from (or skip) some or all of the Section 20 consultation process. This may be needed when we have to carry out work quickly. This can be because there is a health and safety risk or to avoid long periods of inconvenience to customers.

We applied for dispensation to shorten the Section 20 consultation periods in order to replace the communal passenger lift at St James Court in Taunton.

The First Tier Tribunal have approved the dispensation application. You can find legal documents about this below for more details and information on your rights to appeal if required.
