Did you know that as a customer whether you’re a leaseholder, shared owner, tenant, or commercial occupier you’re responsible for arranging your own contents insurance? This covers your personal belongings against risks like theft, fire, and accidental damage.
To make things easier, we’ve partnered with Thistle Tenant Risks and Ageas Insurance Limited to offer the My Home Contents Insurance Scheme, designed specifically for residents like you.
Why choose My Home?
The scheme includes a range of valuable benefits, such as:
- Accidental damage to TVs, DVDs, and home entertainment equipment (excluding portable devices) – covered as standard.
- Digital downloads (films and music) – included up to £2,000.
- Extra cover for special events – increased cover of £1,500 or 15% of the sum insured (whichever is higher) for one month before and after weddings, Christmas, or other religious holidays.
- Valuable items at home – covered up to 40% of the contents sum insured or £5,000 (whichever is higher) for claims involving multiple valuables, or £2,500 for any single valuable.
- Contents in gardens and communal areas – up to £1,000, plus £500 for plants, shrubs, and trees at no extra cost.
- Tenants’ improvements – up to £2,000 or 20% of the sum insured for fixed items like decorating, flooring, or fitted kitchens.
- Fridge/freezer contents – covered as standard (except where damage is caused by a deliberate electricity cut-off).
