Our new Energy Advice page offers support to manage your bills

We are launching our new Energy Advice page to help you stay in control of your energy bills following the price cap increase in April.
bills

The energy price cap, which sets the cost of your energy bills, is set to increase by 54% from 1 April 2022, meaning the energy bills for many homes will increase.

We understand that this is a stressful period and that many people may be wondering how they will pay their bills. We want to provide support to you during this time and equip you with all of the information you need to stay in control of your bills and keep your home warm.

Ahead of the price cap increase, we have been working closely with energy advice agencies across the country to gather the most useful and up to date information on how you can minimise your energy bills and access the financial support available to you.

We want to support you during this time and ensure that if you need help, you know what options are available to you and how to access them.

Our new Energy Advice page, accessed through the 'Help and Advice' area of our website, offers advice on how to save energy, manage your bills and access support, as well as information on energy appliances in your home and guidance on the grants and loans available to you.

Our Energy Advice Officer, Lucy, has been listening to your concerns and we are continuing to update the Energy Advice page with new information relevant to the issues that matter to you.

We understand that with bills set to increase you may be worried about the cost of heating your home, but we want to ensure that you are able to keep your home warm. Keeping the temperature of your home between 18°C and 21°C (between 16°C and 20°C for baby's rooms) is important for you and your family's health and wellbeing.

Within the Energy Advice page, you will find a Support for you page with information on help available, both financially and in the form of professional advice. If you are finding that you are unable to keep your home warm, know that you are not alone and there is no shame in reaching out for support.

If increasing energy bills are affecting your ability to keep up with your rent payments, our Tenancy Sustainment team are here to support you. Your Income Officer is also here to help you manage your rent payments if you are struggling; you can find your income officer using the Find my Income Officer tool on our website.
