Our accessibility services

We are working to make our communications inclusive and accessible for everyone.

We are committed to being fair and inclusive, supporting diversity and providing inclusion for all of our customers, colleagues and stakeholders.

Ensuring that we communicate in a way that everyone understands is an essential part of our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion strategy.

In order to improve how we communicate with you, our website recently underwent an audit, assessing how accessible it is and identifying areas for improvement.

The main findings of the audit were that the majority of features on our webpage are accessible, but a few areas were highlighted as needing improvement. We have since made the improvements highlighted by the audit and are continuing to review our communications to ensure they are accessible and engaging.

We are captioning all of the videos we upload to our website and social media pages and we have recently reuploaded our ‘Working at LiveWest’ video to include captions.

Alongside these changes, we also identified the need to better promote the accessibility services that we offer, to ensure that anyone who would benefit from them is able to access them.

The format of both our website and printed communications can be adapted to suit your needs.

If you are struggling to read the information we are sharing with you, you can increase the size of our webpage using the zoom tool in your browser. We can send you large print, CD or Braille copies of letters if you have a need for information in this format – just let our customer service team know if this is the case.

You can also use our ReachDeck (formerly Browsealoud) toolbar to listen to our website for free.

To try it out, click on the Accessibility menu in the top right of any page on our website (between the search bar and ‘My account’) then select 'Speak and translate'. To hear text read out loud, simply click on the first icon in the toolbar that appears along the top of the page and hover your mouse over any text.  From a touchscreen device you will need to click on the text to hear it.

To translate letters or leaflets, we use Language Line. You can also speak to someone with the help of an interpreter. Let our customer service team know if this is a service you need.

For our customers and stakeholders who use sign language, we have partnered with SignVideo to provide a Video Relay Service which you are free to use. If you wish to use this service, please click on the Accessibility menu in the top right of the website, select 'SignVideo', enter your postcode and then you will be connected.

If you feel that your accessibility needs are not currently being met, please contact us and let us know. We will be happy to help you access the support that you need.

For more information on the accessibility services we offer, visit the accessibility area of our website. You can reach this area using the ‘Accessibility’ tab, between the search bar and the ‘My Account’ tab at the top right of our website, or through the accessibility button at the footer of our website.
