The energy-efficient affordable housing development provides 45 new homes to Cornwall.

We joined forces with Vistry to develop the new development which is made up of 37 homes for affordable rent and eight shared ownership homes.

The project was supported by Cornwall Council and Homes England and provides much-needed affordable homes for local people in the town.

Gareth Jones, Development Director for LiveWest, said: “We are delighted to have worked with our partners on this fantastic development.

“Warm and good quality homes are the foundation for wellbeing and strong connected communities, so I’m really pleased to see these much-needed affordable homes completed.

“We’re committed to investing in communities and helping to meet the established need for more affordable homes. “I’m absolutely delighted that we’ve been able to deliver these high-quality new homes for people in Bodmin.”

All of our homes have been built with sustainability in mind, with PV panels improving the homes’ energy efficiency and helping residents save on their energy bills.

The Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) on the homes range from 89 to 95, with the average score of 93.2 (SAP A) across the homes. The homes also come with electric vehicle chargers.

Peter Sadler, Managing Director of Vistry South West, said: “Our ongoing partnership with LiveWest has enabled the delivery of much needed quality affordable homes across Cornwall, giving local people access to a range of housing choices whilst regenerating redundant areas and breathing new life into others.

“The Council’s commitment to combatting Cornwall’s housing shortage has further helped to bring forward sites like ours here in Bodmin, and we look forward to building many more mixed-tenure homes across the county in the future.”

Cllr Peter LaBroy, Cornwall Council Cabinet Member for Housing, said: “Providing affordable housing in the areas where they are most needed is one of our top priorities.

“Currently there are currently almost 900 households registered on Homechoice with a local connection to Bodmin, which demonstrates just how needed developments like these are.”

The development has benefited from a £3.2m grant from Homes England, the Government’s housing and regeneration agency.

Gareth Phipps-Williams, Assistant Director of AHP management at Homes England, said: “As the Government’s housing and regeneration agency, increasing the supply of quality affordable homes remains one of our key objectives and we are committed to supporting stakeholders of all sizes to achieve their ambitions.

“This affordable housing development in Bodmin is a prime example of how we work collaboratively with partners like LiveWest to achieve our mission to build much needed new communities that people can be proud to call home.”
