Klaudia trials our first ever Estate Agency apprenticeship

After finishing her A levels in sociology, business studies and English language Klaudia Chylinska, a former Exeter College student decided that university wasn’t for her and so applied for an apprenticeship at LiveWest.
Klaudia is a new apprentice at LiveWest

Like many young people Klaudia didn’t know exactly what she wanted to do when leaving college and after seeing the estate agent apprenticeship offered by LiveWest she applied.

Klaudia said: “I didn’t know what I wanted to do but wanted something that could give me flexibility. University seemed like my only option but I really didn’t want to be in a classroom studying, I wanted to be out in the world experiencing new things. I searched for apprenticeships near me and found LiveWest offered all kinds of different ones. I wanted to get into property so the estate agency apprenticeship was appealing to me, it’s been brilliant so far.”

Klaudia works within the sales and marketing team at LiveWest and is supported by her mentor Clare. With one day a week to do college work the rest is practical on the job experience, all whilst being paid.

Klaudia added: “I have particularly enjoyed going to our new housing schemes and looking round and picking out tiles and furnishings for our show homes. It has been really great to learn about what can be added to a property to make it stand out to interested buyers.”

The Estate Agency apprenticeship is the first of its kind for LiveWest and sits within the open market sales team.

Clare Biddlecombe is Klaudia’s mentor at LiveWest. Claire Biddlecome Sales Manager at LiveWest said: “We are very excited to have Klaudia join us in the open market sales team.  This is the first time we have offered this apprenticeship course at LiveWest, and due to the diversity of the business I feel this is a perfect fit within the development team.

This course covers many areas; such as general sales, marketing, compliance, valuations, lettings and customer care all of which across the business we can share our expertise.  I do feel this great opportunity for anyone with an interest in housing and sales.  Klaudia joined us in November and is already a real asset to our team.”

We are delighted to celebrate National Apprenticeship Week, an annual campaign backed by the government.

This year the theme is ‘Build the Future’, encouraging everyone to consider how apprenticeships help to build the skills and knowledge required for a rewarding career.

The week-long celebration, starting on 7 February, will shine a light on the fantastic work being done by employers and apprentices across the country.

It will also recognise how employers of all sizes have stepped up to the challenge during these difficult times.

The 15th National Apprenticeship Week will take place across England, encouraging individuals of any age to reach their career goals by building their skills and knowledge through an apprenticeship.

At LiveWest we appreciate the full value of apprenticeships in helping to set people on their chosen career path.

We currently have 39 apprentices in programmes ranging from Level 2 in Plumbing to Level 7 Masters in Business Administration, with a variety of levels and specialisms in between.
During this week we’ll be celebrating some of our great apprentices across LiveWest and hearing more about their journeys and the support they have been given along the way.

Our People Skills Development Adviser, Laura Sanders, said: “National Apprenticeships Week is a great opportunity for us to highlight the amazing progress our apprentices have made during the last year.
“It has been inspirational to hear their stories and their achievements over the course of what has been a difficult last 12 months.

“Apprenticeships can be a life-changing experience for many, providing a foundation to build their careers in the future.

“At LiveWest we have taken positive steps to ensure our apprentices are able to continue their studies and get that vital practical experience during this unprecedented time.

“This week is a chance to focus on how our apprentices, of all ages and backgrounds, across LiveWest are helping to improve the organisation and our customers’ lives.”
