How to get full fibre broadband installed

Find out the step you need to follow to get full fibre broadband installed
Someone using a laptop.

Check if it's available in your area

Click here to use the fibre broadband checker on the Ofcom website to see if full fibre is available where you live.
You can also ask your broadband provider, such as; BT, EE or Virgin.

If you live in a flat you will need to ensure full fibre is installed in the block prior to your order. If it’s currently not available, speak to your provider and register your interest for fibre in your building.

A survey may be needed

If new cables are needed for your home, your provider will arrange for a survey to be done at the property.

Getting permission before any work starts

After the survey, the installer must send us a permission to work form.
This should include:

  • A short description of the work
  • Photos showing where they need to drill or make changes

This is to ensure we advise the installers on the correct safety measures.

They can send this form directly to us at Fibrebroadband@livewest.co.uk

We check the form and give the go-ahead. Once we have carried out the necessary safety checks and are happy with the proposed works, we’ll sign the form and send it back to the provider.

The installation works can then begin.
