Energy Fair in Holsworthy helps customers manage their energy costs

As part of our drive to support customers to manage their energy costs we are hosting the first in a series of local energy advice events.
Easter Energy Fair

Working in partnership with Holsworthy District Community Forum, Wisermoney and TTVS, the Energy Fair is at The Memorial Hall in Holsworthy on Monday 11th April from 2-5pm and will aim to assist people, with energy efficiency advice and support to help reduce utility bills and find solutions to their energy issues.

Alison Knight, Community Connector at LiveWest said: “We want to chat to people face to face about what can be done to reduce energy costs or maximise income from other areas. With South West Water, Energy 361, Wisermoney, One Small Step and other organisations in attendance. Wisermoney’s aim is to advise people on how to make informed choices about energy efficiency, debt, budgeting and reducing utility bills.”

“There are some great children’s activities including creating energy by cycling, face painting, free easter eggs as well as free refreshments for the adults. We are hoping to alleviate some of the financial pressure on customers, helping them to increase control of bills and keep their homes warm.”

As a social business, we have put in place a series of resources to support the enormous challenges facing customers. We recognise that increasing living costs and reduced incomes are going to have a significant impact on customers’ ability to heat their homes and put food on the table. 

Central to our energy efficiency drive, we target that all of our existing managed homes reach an Energy Performance Certificates (EPC) rating of band C and above by 2028. This is two years ahead of the proposed government target of 2030. This runs alongside our core ambition to provide homes, support our customers, and address fuel poverty.

During the year, we will launch a suite of energy advice toolkits and resource packs, hold webinars, podcasts, and live practical sessions for customers on a wide range of topics including awareness of financial, and emotional support available.
