Residents in Hamp, Bridgwater, came together for a successful week of arts and creativity thanks to a community Art Week project held at The Rec Centre.
Bringing the community together, the art project encouraged people of all ages to get involved in a range of creative activities throughout the week.
Supported by a £200 donation from LiveWest, the initiative provided a fantastic opportunity for local residents to connect, learn new skills and provide an opportunity for residents to their creative mark on their neighbourhood.
Feedback from those who attended was overwhelmingly positive, with 100% of participants saying they loved the activity they took part in, and 100% saying they would like Art Week to return in future years.
Shona Stone, Community Connector for the area, said: "It's wonderful to see so many residents come together and take part in such a creative project.
"Initiatives like Art Week do more than create colourful artwork, they help bring people together, build friendships and strengthen community connections.
"We're proud to have supported a project that has given residents the opportunity to get involved and create something that the whole community can enjoy for years to come."
Alongside the artwork unveiling, visitors enjoyed a free hog roast and a range of children's activities, creating a fun and welcoming atmosphere for the whole community.
The success of Art Week demonstrates the positive impact that community-led projects can have, bringing people together, building confidence and creating lasting memories for everyone involved.
