Christmas comes early for Jack as he settles into his new home for the festive season

In an area of high housing demand, first-time buyer Jack and his partner are thrilled to be in their new home in time for the festive period, thanks to our support.

With a wreath on the door, outside lights glistening and their tree beautifully decorated, the pair are looking forward to ending their year on a high in their comfortable and modern home.

Jack’s home is one of 19 new-build shared ownership homes which have been built in Congresbury.

Jack, 27, said: “It just feels so surreal to be here for Christmas. We are really happy here and it feels like home. I feel like we have already been here for a long time.

“LiveWest supported me through the whole process. Everyone was really helpful, and every representative really made me feel at ease and provided us with as much detail as possible.

“Being a first-time buyer, you’re not always sure about the buying process but LiveWest were really knowledgeable and supportive.”

Thanks to our partnership with Freemantle and Tallagh, a total of 25 energy-efficient homes benefited from grant funding from LiveWest’s strategic partnership with Homes England.

After being handed the keys to his new home, the couple’s home is one of many on the development which have embraced the festive spirit.

He added: “We have decorated, and the tree is up. We are really pleased with it. With it being a new build, it’s like a blank canvas so you can make it your own.

“My home is trendy, modern and it has solar panels, which will help reduce my energy bills.

“This is my first home through shared ownership, and I definitely recommend LiveWest as they have really supported me through this process.”

The energy-efficient homes benefit from solar panels, high-quality insulation, and solar PV to ensure our homes are sustainable, lowers the development’s carbon footprint and helps reduce our residents’ energy bills.

As well as the shared ownership homes, we also have six rental homes, four of which are self-contained flats, with one being adapted to make it more accessible for residents.

As we commit to more shared ownership homes across the South West, our aim is to continue to help more people get on the property ladder.
