We are excited to launch our sustainability plans for the next five years and beyond, reinforcing our promise to creating long-term benefits for our customers, communities and colleagues.
Sustainability is at the heart of everything that we do, and everyone has a part to play. As part of our new strategy, we have set clear goals to track our progress and ensure we make a meaningful, positive impact.
Read our 2025-2030 Sustainability Strategy.
We have incorporated two global frameworks in our approach:
- The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—17 goals that address the world’s most pressing challenges, from climate action to decent work and equality.
- Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) principles—standards that help us operate responsibly, ethically, and transparently across every part of our business.
Our new plan builds on the progress we have made as part of our last strategy. We listened to feedback from our customers, colleagues, investors, and our Board. We also looked at data about our carbon footprint and social impact to find where we can make the biggest difference.
Our Chief Executive, Paul Crawford, said: “This strategy reflects our commitment to building a more resilient and responsible organisation, working together to deliver greater impact for our people, planet, and communities.
"By continuing to embed sustainability into every part of our organisation, we aim to lead the way in driving lasting, positive change.”
Our Executive Director of Development and Investment, Russell Baldwinson, said: “We’re proud of the progress we’ve already made in building and retrofitting homes that support our customers and protect the environment.
"This strategy is the next step in our commitment to doing what’s right for people and the planet, ensuring the places we create today continue to make a positive difference for generations to come.”
