Keeping safety devices installed in your home switched on

Throughout your home there are a variety of devices and alarms which have been installed to keep you safe or to prevent issues in your home such as damp and mould. These include fire and smoke alarms, extractor fans, carbon monoxide alarms, radon sumps and positive ventilation

Ensuring all safety devices are switched on and working correctly is essential. With the cost of living rising some are turning off devices in order to save money on energy bills, however this is dangerous and is not worth the small amount of money that could potentially be saved in comparison to the potential health risk.

Each person produces around 5 pints of moisture in the home per day from cooking, cleaning, daily activities and even breathing. For a family of 4, that’s 20 pints a day or 140 pints a week, so it is really important devices installed to extract moisture are used.
