Thanks to our Work Hub, Julie Ashwell-Harrington’s child-minding business has gone from strength to strength
Julie Ashwell-Harrington, a LiveWest customer from Cornwall has launched her own child-minding business recently, called WiggleBuddies. This was all made possible thanks to funding and support from our Work Hub. Julie used a £500 bursary to fund the cost of play equipment, children’s furniture, gain a paediatric first aid qualification and update her personal qualifications.
Mai Evans, LiveWest Community Development Worker said: ‘’It has been a pleasure to support Julie on her journey towards self-employment. She has impressed me with her determination, resilience and positive attitude.’’
Julie Ashwell-Harrington, LiveWest customer said: ’’My Community Development Worker, Mai Evans has been great throughout the whole process. She arranged for me to take a first aid course and told me about other help that was available. This included support from Outset Cornwall and the Childcare Business Grant from the UK Government. The help I have received from LiveWest has really lifted my business off the ground. I love my work and feel that I am finally doing something that really suits me.’’
