A survey into satisfaction at our extra care schemes has revealed that 100% of our customers are either very or fairly satisfied with their home.
We carried out the survey to understand our customers’ experiences of their homes and the care and support services they receive.
We have four extra care schemes across the South West – Devonport Views (Plymouth), Tennyson Court (Taunton), Springfields (Filton) and The Orchard (Bath).
The 100% satisfaction in the quality of homes at our extra care schemes highlights the importance we place on providing homes our customers love to live in.
Darrell Jackson, our Head of Older People and Learning Disabilities, said: “This really is a great reflection on the investment and ongoing maintenance that goes into our extra care housing stock.
“With a client group who spends a larger proportion of their time than most within their own flats, this is fantastic news.”
The survey also found that 93.5% of customers were either very or fairly satisfied with our overall extra care service, while 91% were satisfied with the safety and security of their home and 88% felt the rent charged provides good value for money
While LiveWest employs a scheme manager during normal office hours, the local authority commission a care and support provider to ensure 24-hour care staffing presence.
Customers were also asked how satisfied they were with these external care services.
At two schemes, 100% of customers were fairly or very satisfied with the care provider with scores of 78% and 75% at the other schemes.
There were no customers who were dissatisfied with their external care services.
Darrell Jackson added: “I’m absolutely delighted with the overall results which reflect the tireless work undertaken by LiveWest extra care scheme managers and the excellent working relations with our external care agency partners to provide a 24-hour service to a very vulnerable group of residents.”
